Exmouth Ocean: Reveiw

While on holiday in Exeter I was lucky enough to go to an event at Exmouth’s Ocean. This is a new entertainment complex with bowling, soft play, dining, event space and an arcade. The windows open out to the beautiful backdrop of the estuary meeting the sea.
Monkey and Ladybird loved the soft play and had hours of fun climbing, sliding and hiding in the ball pits. The soft play is large with lots of different things to do: slides, ball pits, things to climb and things that make sounds. It’s easy to find your child as it’s very open and light, so you can walk around the outside of the soft play net until you spot them. Don’t forget your socks, as they must be worn!! They also have a children’s party room just next to the soft play.
We then had a tour of Ocean, downstairs is the 12 lane ten pin bowling, arcade and bar & grill.
Then on the second level is the soft play, balcony (toddler safe) and cafe. The top floor is a beautiful event venue with a stage, two big balconies, bar and dining area. All perfectly finished, and the views are stunning.
Wherever you go in the building staff are friendly and chatty and make you feel welcome. As with most places, meal times are a struggle and to be honest there wasn’t much I could have had on the menu, with our multiple allergies. After being asked about dietary requirements a few days before, they were prepared for me and the chef had prepared a vegan, gluten free cauliflower pizza. Wow! It was amazing. This isn’t on the menu, but if you email or ring in advance, they can meet dietary requirements where the menu is not suitable. (I would go for the pizza, the best pizza I’ve had) also their chips are gluten free!
After lunch we all went down for a game of bowling. We weren’t too sure about this, but the kids loved it! You have to keep an watchful eye on them around the heavy balls, but it was great fun and I will be taking Monkey again to our local alley when we get home. They have fun characters to represent each player, which the kids loved, and the adults where able to get a bit competitive. Needless to say, I lost to a toddler!
All in all, my trip to Ocean was a great one, I would recommend a trip if you are in Exmouth.
There are a wide range of events happening all year round at Ocean: ladies night, jazz night, children;s activities, Halloween parties, alfresco Sundays, Christmas, New Year and much more.
